He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Whitney Sr. and Mary Margaret "Gigs" Junio (McGuigan); his aunt Rose Marie Whitney (McGuigan); and his brother Michael "Mick". He is survived by: his wife Betty Whitney (Burkhart); his children, Janet Hetherington (Bill) of Manor, Karen Miller (Darrin) of Matthews, NC and Fred Whitney (Shelby) of North Huntingdon; his grandchildren, Billy Hetherington (Cassandra), Nicolas Hetherington, Luke Miller, Max Miller, Emily Whitney, Amanda Whitney and Jonathan Whitney; his great grandchildren, Cassius Hetherington, Cillian Hetherington and Cleo Hetherington; and his siblings, Carol Malone, Rose Prosser (late Ken), Dale Whitney (Sandra), Brian Whitney (Candy), Chris Wallace (Bob), Tom Whitney (Rona Yanovich) and Linda Cox (Tom). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
