He was predeceased by: his wife Ruth M. Herbst (Strickler); his parents, Emory W. Herbst and Margie M. Herbst (Ziegler); his stepdaughter Janice E. Partin; and his siblings, Daniel, Edward, Dean Herbst, Alma Smith and Gladys Taylor.
He is survived by: his stepchildren, Titus F. (Betty Geesey) of Glen Rock and Ann M. Dietz of York; and his siblings, Junior Herbst of Red Lion and Ellen Wierman of Red Lion. He is also survived by seven step-grandchildren; 11 step great grandchildren; eight step great great grandchildren.
