He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert M. Shank and Waltanna Scott Shank. He is survived by: his wife Sara L. Shirk Shank; his children, Karen E. (Tim Singleton) of Lancaster and William C. Shank of Pittsburgh; and his grandson Wyatt S. Singleton.
