He was predeceased by: his parents, Simon Hoffer and Jennie Hoffer (Mengel); and his siblings, Jay Hoffer, Simon Hoffer, Jr., Allen Hoffer, Lois Haldeman and Ruth Fisher.
He is survived by: his wife Marie A. Via Hoffer (Noll); his children, Kim D. Swinehart (Richard A.) of Campbelltown and Marvin Ray Hoffer, II (Ann L.) of Mount Joy; his siblings, Alvin Hoffer, Donald Hoffer, Mary Ann Nye and Linda Turner; and his stepchildren, Tina Harris (Chris) of Mims, Penny Hagerty of Wilmington, Delaware and Caroll Via of Winter Park, Florida. He is also survived by one step granddaughter; and two step great grandchildren.
