He was predeceased by: his parent Meade Greenawalt; and his siblings, Frank Greenawalt, Ronald Greenawalt, David Greenawalt and Thelma Greenawalt.

He is survived by: his parent Myrtle Pollum Greenawalt; his wife Janet Switzer Greenawalt; his children, Vickie Greenawalt-Baker, Timothy Greenawalt of Erie and Mark Greenawalt of Ormand Beach, FL; and his grandchildren, Alison Rizk (George), Helena, Alex Baker (Erin Wengrovius), Michael, Peter and Matthew Greenawalt.
