He was predeceased by: his spouse Elizabeth "Bettie" Carter; and his child Carolyn Hopson. He is survived by: his children, Edward (Dorothy), Michael (Georgette), Timothy (Nancy), Robert (Debbie), Betty Anne Golato (Lou) and Kathleen Carter; his son-in-law John Hopson; and his sibling Charles Carter (Doris). He is also survived by 15 Grandchildren, 7 Great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers family prefers contributions to The Men of Malvern, 315 S. Warren Ave., Malvern, PA 19355.
