He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia Layton; his daughter Holli A. Gontz; and his siblings, Kay Andrews and George Gontz. He is survived by: his sons, James W. Gontz (Cindy) of Barnesville and David Gontz of North Carolina; his grandchildren, Courtney Long, Gregory and Anthony Gontz; and his great grandchildren, Jensen and Stella Long. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
