He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard James Spaid, Sr. and Eleanor Rose McMasters; and his sisters, Virginia Marshall and Deborah Spaid. He is survived by: his wife Amy Spaid (Smith) of Mahaffey; his children, James Spaid (Ashley) of Northern Cambria and Debbie Spaid of Mahaffey; his granddaughter Raelynn Grace Spaid; and his sister Marcia Smith of Mahaffey.
