He was predeceased by: his mother Phyllis Garber; his son Gary Smeltz; his brother Jim Umholtz; and his son-in-law Robert Ketchem. He is survived by: his wife Claudia A. Welker (Reedinger); his daughters, Lisa Kolva (Troy) and Marci Ketchem; his grandchildren, Zachary Smeltz (Melissa), Megan Williams (Corey), Kassandra Lenker, Mackenzy Zerby (Derrick), Mitchell Lenker (Jessica), Kelsey Kolva, Jennifer Ketchem (Stephen Dunst) and Joey Ketchem; his great grandchildren, Blake, Colton, Delaney, Shane, Henry, Everleigh and Eloise; and his niece Beth. He is also survived by nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 18th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Minnich Family Funeral Homes, Inc. (1238 W Market St, Williamstown, PA 17098). A graveside service was held on Tuesday, March 18th 2025 at 11:15 AM at the Calvary Cemetery.
