He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold "Unc" Dietrich and Marilyn Shadle Dietrich; and his wife Tina Kohler Dietrich. He is survived by: his daughters, Tara Potter of Lykens and Wendy Dietrich (Jennifer) of Lykens; his sister Patti Ulsh (Dan); his granddaughters, Jaclyn and Joanna Potter; his nieces, Rebecca Doran (Matt), Rachel Matter (Jarred) and Hannah Ulsh; his great-nephew Jonah Matter; and his mother-in-law Joan Kohler.
