He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry L. Pontius and Suzanne Pontius (Rhienfeldt); and his brothers, Walter, Pierce, Morris and Raymond.
He is survived by: his children, Henry Pontius II, Andrew Pontius (Ilene), Deborah Stambaugh (Eugene), Sue Flanders (Blaine), Cindy Bowermaster (Mark) and Teresa Jensen.
