He was predeceased by: his parents, Matthew Paul and Mary Agnes Butters (Hiller); his wife Mary; his brother Harlie Housel; and his siblings-in-law, Thomas DelJanovan (Mary Ann), Matthew DelJanovan (Doris), George DelJanovan, Edward DelJanovan, Gordan DelJanovan, Jack DelJanovan and Connie DelJanovan (Lenny).

He is survived by: his brothers, Paul Joseph Butters of Williamsport, Donald Butters (Susan) of Williamsport and Ronald Butters (Sandy) of Williamsport; his siblings-in-law, Joe DelJanovan (Barb), Dorothy Housel, Linda DelJanovan, Patricia Moon (Clarence) and Wilhelmenia Webster (Floyd); and his goddaughter Carole Parker. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Bob's name to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

“My condolences to Uncle Bob's Brothers and family. My memories of Uncle Bob where his lawn, Cadillac and most importantly the Navy Reserve center. My 28 years in the Navy were highlighted with him passing the American flag to me at my retirement. Loved you Uncle Bob. Jim Butters, Master Chief, USN (Ret)”
