He was predeceased by: his parents, Azariah Koontz and Leota Koontz (Huemme); and his wife Frances Koontz (Bash). He is survived by: his children, Barbara Edwards (Donald), Judith Koontz, Lorin Johnson (David), Robert M. Koontz (Karen Kelly) and Ronald M. Koontz (Jill); his grandchildren, Donald Edwards (Cole), Susan Cloud (Scott), Stephanie Sgambati (Michael), Jessica Hale (Jimmy Puzak), Trisha Johnson, Gwen Koontz (Tom) and Neil Koontz; and his great grandchildren, Jasper, Alden, Hank, Jack, Deegan and Rayen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
