He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald P. McDowell and Doris P. McDowell (Nolan); and his sister Denise P. Vlasko. He is survived by: his sons, Daniel P. McDowell of Corbin, KY and Shawn M. McDowell (Tonya) of Scottdale; and his siblings, Dale P. McDowell of Derry, Donald P. McDowell of Bowling Green, KY and Diane P. McDowell of Vandergrift. He is also survived by one granddaughter; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
