He was predeceased by: his parents, Sarah Fischer (McClain) and Edward Fischer, Sr.; and his brother Edward Fischer, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Brenda J. Fischer (Schlappich); his children, James Fischer Jr. (Beckie) of Lititz, Kathleen Bond (Kerry) of Lenhartsville, William Fischer (Jennifer) of Norcross, GA, Susan Ciferri (Robert) of Reading, Bryan Fischer (Christina) of Myerstown and Melissa Fischer (Joshua Centini) of Harrisburg; his sister Mary Anne Shillow of Columbia; his sister-in-law Elsie Fischer of Lancaster; and his mother-in-law Myrle Schlappich of Bernville. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
