He was predeceased by: his wife Marjorie H. Schmidt; his parents, William F. Schmidt Sr. and Evelyn Schmidt; and his siblings, Jeannette and Royden Schmidt.
He is survived by: his children, Nancy Mihok (late Fred), Jan Derby (Dwight) and David Schmidt (Janis). He is also survived by his 9 grandchildren; and his 23 great grandchildren.
