He was predeceased by: his wife Della; his parents, Colonel Herman and Ivre Noreen Clemonts Taylor; and his brother Phillip. He is survived by: his children, Cory, Terry, Jason, Kandace and Brian; his siblings, James Taylor, Kirby Taylor, Truby Culbertson, Pearl Abbott, Katie Clements and Faye Gilley; and his close friend Pauline DeRose Trautwein.
