He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Engler and Anna Chvostzek Engler; his wife Helen Gaydos Engler; and his brother Martin Engler. He is survived by: his children, Gerianne Steigerwalt (Mike) of Cortland, N. Y., John M. Engler (Diane) of Kittanning, Karen Link (Pete) of Erie, David Engler of Lower Burrell, Elaine Engler of Sharpsburg and Kathy Kobert (Robert) of Gibsonia; his grandchildren, Michael, Teresa, Katie Steigerwalt, Steven Engler (Amber), Sarah Deibert (Steve), Kristen Sheffler (Ross), Andrew Link, Stephanie and Kali Kobert; his great grandchildren, Jackson and Levi Deibert; and his close friend Freda Perdeus.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations made in his name to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, http://www.lls.org; Disabled American Veterans, http://www.dav.org; or Vested Interest in K9s Inc., http://www.vik9s.org; Westmoreland County Marines No. 1416 will conduct services at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
