He was predeceased by: his father Harold W. Shaffer; and his sisters, Viola Shaffer, Katherine Bussey and Lois Ann Nail. He is survived by: his wife Virginia "Dee" Butera Shaffer; his son John Harold Shaffer of San Leon, TX.; his stepchildren, Shani Cambal (Geoff) of Lower Burrell and Todd Taylor Jr. of Lower Burrell; and his grandchildren, John Shaffer, Courtney Cambal and Drew Cambal.
