He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy "Chickie" Cowen; his parents, Arthur Cowen and Frances Cowen (Edwards); and his brothers, Bob and Tom Cowen.
He is survived by: his children, Susan Keefer, Tim Cowen (Sharon) and Tracey Hill; and his sister Marlene Rice (Patrick). He is also survived by six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
