She was predeceased by: her parents, Leslie Heaton and Hazel S. Robb Heaton; her spouse Thomas Dean Burkey; and her daughter-in-law Cheryl Burkey. She is survived by: her sons, Charles Burkey (Diane) of Beech Creek, Dean Burkey of Beech Creek, William Burkey of Marsh Creek and David Burkey of Marsh Creek; and her sister Myrmetta Glossner of Beech Creek. She is also survived by three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
