She was predeceased by: her parents, Ruby Wheeler Bilby and Fred Bilby, Sr.; her former husband Richard Shaffer, Sr.; and her siblings, Fred Bilby, Jr., Ella Mae Spade and Miriam Vonada.
She is survived by: her children, Richard Shaffer (Darlene) and Kathy Chasse (Norm); her grandchildren, Eric Koch (Dez), Nathan Little (Jess) and Kacie Snyder (Shawn); her cousin Glorianne Worden; her niece Teresa Simcox; her nephews, Tom, Tony and Tim Gillott; and her close friend Buster. She is also survived by other nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations in Shirley's name to be made to Gatehouse Hospice. Anyone wanting to aid the Gatehouse can also donate non-perishable items by brining them to the service.
