She was predeceased by: her parents, Russell Cardell and Mary Rhinehart Cardell; her spouse Zane Grey Kaufman; and her brother David. She is survived by: her daughters, Susan K. Hafey (Peter Galarneau) of Virginia and Amy G. Schol (Stephan Schol) of Germany; and her grandchildren, Peter Schol and Karin Goecke (Marcel Goecke).
