He was predeceased by: his parents, Clancy Tinkler (Martha) and Hazel Tinkler; his brother James Tinkler; his half-sisters, Sheryl Prien and Sandy Tinkler; and his son John Prien.
He is survived by: his son James; his wife Elaine Hassler; his children, Sheryl, Anita Prien, Helen Prien, Karen Farabaugh, Kristen, Colleen (Stephen Dean), Emily (John Paul Janaro), Maria, Megan (Andy Toth), Rich Prien, Kenneth Prien, Adina Gibson, Aislinn and Alijah; his foster son Miguel Penafiel; and his half-sisters, Robin Tinkler, Donna Sweeten and Allison Smith.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to EWTN (the Catholic TV network) or the Veterans Administration.
