He was predeceased by: his parents, John H. Shade and Elizabeth Shade; and his wife Janet Copenhaver. He is survived by: his son Scott Shade (Tracy) of Lock Haven; his stepsons, Donald Nyman of Woolrich and Steven Nyman of Allenwood; his siblings, Clifford Shade of Mill Hall and Bonnie Welch of Beech Creek; and his grandchildren, Dameon, Clarissa Ilgen, Brenna, Tatum, Ada and Nathan Shade.
