With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Jean Elaine Merrill of Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 31, 2024 at the age of 92. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Sr. Rhoads and Goldie Rhoads (Bloom); her former husband Charles L. Merrill, Sr.; her son Charles L. Merrill, Jr.; her brothers, John Jr., Donald and Stanley Rhoads; her nephew John "Jack" Rhoads IV; and her grandson Carl Merrill, Sr..
She is survived by: her children, Carleen Merrill, Beverly Merrill, Paul Merrill (Dixie Brandt), Marilyn George (Alvin), Kathleen Merrill (Dennis Winner), Valerie Johnston (Robert) and Troy Sr. Merrill (Heather); her grandchildren, Colton Confer, Amber Johnston (Josh Slegle), Kassie Johnston, Jennifer Jeirles, Curisa Ertwine, Catherine Merrill, Troy Merrill Jr., Cody Weigle, Stacie Merrill, Shane Merrill (Brenda), Shawn Merrill (Christine), Keith Merrill, Travis George (Brenda), Alvin George Jr. and Meloney Merrill; her great grandchildren, Seth Miller (Heather), Brice Royer (Hannah), Cody Bradley (Abby), Dekota Welker, Jessica Sayers (Scott), Carl Merrill Jr., Cierra Merrill, Christine England, Caitlin Hopkins, Shana Merrill, Cheyenne Merrill, Megan Merrill, Chase Johnston, Alvin George III, Hailie, Aiden, Chelsea, Nicholas George, Elizabeth Sanders, Colleen George, Samantha Merrill and Paige Embick; and her grandson-in-law Chad Jeirles.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Swissdale United Methodist Church (974 Croak Hollow Rd, Lock Haven, PA 17745). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Jersey Shore Cemetery (1103 Locust St, Jersey Shore, PA 17740).
