He was predeceased by: his parents, Margaret Litz and Clyde Litz; his former wife Frances Rizzo; and his brothers, Carl Litz and Bob Litz (Florence Gates Litz).
He is survived by: his wife Florence Barner Gates; his daughters, Majella Litz Matyas (George), Marci Litz Smith (Mike) and Stacie Litz Winkleman (Bill); his stepchildren, Judy Gates (Ross), Kathy Snook (Barry) and Roger Gates (Cathy); his grandchildren, Andrea Smith, Clint Smith, Chris Winkleman and Andrew Winkleman; his stepgrandchildren, Shawn Best and Amanda Gates; and his nephew Gary Litz. He is also survived by 7 great grandchildren.
