He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Bartholomew and Ruby V. Bartholomew (Hoffman); his granddaughter Kadena Denise Brantley; his sister Priscilla Moore; his father-in-law Charles "Bud" Mitchell; and his brother-in-law Thomas Peasley.

He is survived by: his spouse Charla Teresa Mitchell; his children, Anne Brantley (Theodore), Denise Knarr (Perry) and Matthew Bartholomew (Krystal); his grandchildren, Corey Bartholomew (Lauren), Zachary Zimmerman, Kayla Warren-Best (Damon), Zachary Kane, Taylor Bartholomew, Dalanie Bartholomew, Gabrielle Knarr, Brenden Foster and Todd J. Bartholomew; his great grandchildren, Bentley and Scarlett Warren-Best; his sisters, Haroldine Peasley, Barb Bartholomew (Ron), Norma Kelley (Terry) and Stacey Oshrin; his mother-in-law Donna Mitchell; and his siblings-in-law, Dawn Zimmerman-Kane (William), Charles Mitchell (Deb), David Mitchell (Dee), Dennis Mitchell (Beth) and Christopher Mitchell (Deb). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VFW though the funeral home.
