He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Robert and Mary Kathryn Keefer (Sanders); his son Michael Keefer, Jr.; and his brothers, Thomas, Donald and Robert McGonigal.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn J. Keefer (Holt); his son Robert M. Keefer of Barstow, CA; his grandsons, Bryan and Joshua; his daughter Tesha Wheeler (Vern); his grandchildren, Kayla Klein (Corey), Wretha Noel Malesich (Shane) and Ian Wheeler (Lindsay) of Charleston, SC; and his sisters, Sue Wheeler (Paul), Mariann Brown (Roger), Kathy Hoch (Norm), Alesia Wolf (Tim) and New Oxford. He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren.
