He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas H. Kerns and Mildred I Myers Kerns; his son Thomas Lee Kerns; and his brother Paul Kerns. He is survived by: his wife Jane Mummert Kerns of Waynesboro; his daughter Cynthia Hostetter; his stepchildren, Melissa Kephart and Michael Martin; and his sisters, Doris Morgret, Janet Mayers and Louise Wantz.
