He is survived by: his wife Sharon L. Benford; his grandchildren, Emmanuel "Noli" Tsourakis, Alicia Benford, Zoi Tsourakis, Miranda Benford, Jacob Benford, Ethan Howington, Alexis Christopher, Cadyn Christopher, Skylar Howington, Dallas Howington and Hunter Howington; and his nephew Donnie.

He was a liver transplant recipient and a big advocate of organ donation.
