He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Esaias Groff and Mary Groff (Simmons); his wife Carol Groff (Richardson); his daughters, Heather Wailes (Jack) of Otter River, MA and Melissa Mooney (Kevin) of Provincetown, MA; his granddaughter Rachelle Catherine Wailes of Otter River, MA; his stepdaughters, Jennifer Wiley of Chicago, Julie Vanderwende of Ephrata and Megan Bowers (Daniel) of Mountville; his stepgrandsons, Nicholas and Zachary Vanderwende of Ephrata; and his siblings, Jean Lefever (Donald) of Pequea, Judith Henderson of York and Vernon Groff of Lancaster.
