She was predeceased by: her parents, William J. Bast and Edna Mae Bast (Strack); and her husband Edward B. Herbst. She is survived by: her children, Jeffrey B. Herbst (Ginger Klinedinst-Herbst) of York and Bonnie Sue Heller (Scott V.) of Harrisburg. She is also survived by five grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
