He was predeceased by: his parent Richard D. Sr.; his daughter Nicole Bender; and his brother Robert Bender. He is survived by: his parent Betty Beck Bender; his daughters, Dana Groff of Mifflinburg and Tara Santos (Anastasio) of Lancaster; his grandchildren, Mikaela Santos, Mia Santos, Gavin Harnisch and Daniel Groff (Maureen Peare); and his sister Dorothy Zimmerman of Lititz.
