He was predeceased by: his parents, Parke E. Eckman and Edna Warfel Eckman; his former wife Dorothy R. Eckman; and his son Jeffrey Eckman. He is survived by: his wife Elaine Smith Clark Eckman; his children, Kathy Martin (Lee), Cindy Eckman and Jonathan Eckman (Trudy); and his daughter-in-law Joyce Eckman.
