He was predeceased by: his wife Ruth King Horst; his parents, Elmer K. Horst and Katie Buckwalter Horst; and his sons-in-law, Ronald Helmuth and Spencer Perkins.
He is survived by: his children, Naomi (James Weaver) of Lancaster, Esther (Lewis Martin) of Reinholds, Ellen Helmuth of Bethlehem, Margaret (John David Frost) of Stoneville, NC, Nancy Perkins of Stoneville, NC, Dorcas (Graham Cyster) of Lititz and Thomas (Thelma); his siblings, Samuel Horst of Harrisonburg, VA, John (June Horst) of Elizabethtown and Orpah Kurtz of West Jefferson, NC; and his close friend Millie Shellenberger. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 3 step grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Luke's memory may be made to the Caring Fund at Landis Homes, 1001 E. Oregon Road, Lititz PA 17543.
