She was predeceased by: her parents, Norman Bechtel and Irene Bechtel (Souder); her former husband Henry M. Shank; her siblings, Geraldine Stiedle, Lorraine Sayre, Dorothea Ray, Harold and Wilmer Bechtel; and her siblings-in-law, Reta Gerber, Jim Hardison, Earl Fuhrman and Paul Kolesar.
She is survived by: her grandchildren, Lois and Lowell; her husband Lowell K. Gerber; her children, Kristin Shank Zehr (Kirk), Karl Shank and Michael Shank; her grandchildren, Adrian and Micah Shank Zehr; her sisters, Eleanor Fuhrman and Doris K. Schmehl (Bob); and her siblings-in-law, Fay Bechtel, Lois Shank, Ellen Shetler (Joe), Margaret Lehman (Daniel), Patricia Martin (John), Paul Stiedle, Mike Sayre, Ken Ray and Keith Gerber. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and others in her large extended family.
They traveled to Virginia each spring and winter to hear Adrian and Micah sing with the Shenandoah Valley Children's Choir and watched their concerts faithfully from home when the pandemic shifted to live music online.
