He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel B. Smeltz and Mabel Smeltz (Getz); his grandson Adam Ober; and his sisters, Mildred Arndt and Irene Nolt.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth (Shearer); his daughters, Linda Krause (late Ronald) of Lancaster and Debra Ober (Jere) of Mount Joy; and his sisters, Ruth Wolgemuth of Brethren Village and Miriam Little of Ephrata. He is also survived by four grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren.
