He was predeceased by: his parents, John Mikita and Mary Mikita (Berta); and his brother Edward Mikita. He is survived by: his wife Georgine Rene Mikita (Butko); his children, David A. Mikita (Jennifer) and Kimberly Mikita Penn (Tony Penn) of Bethesda, MD; his grandchildren, John "Jack" Mikita, Matthew Mikita, Catherine Mikita, Samuel Penn and Charles Penn; and his sister Dorothy Valko of Pittsburgh.
