He was predeceased by: his daughter Lucille Stauffer; and his siblings, Richard Hess, James Hess, Mary Lefever, Anna Mae Brubaker and Mabel Lauver.
He is survived by: his spouse Patsy Hess (Wolf); his children, Dennis E. (Darlene), Douglas L. (Christine), Judy (Randy Garber) of Akron, Dean Hess of Lititz, Beverly (Roger Landis) of Strasburg and Barbara (Neil Weidman) of Lititz; his son-in-law Clark Stauffer; and his sister Arlene Turman of Mechanicburg. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren.
