She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, John B. Dixon and Helen Dixon (McKay); her grandmother Mary B. Dixon; her spouse E. Austin Hess; her children, Richard A. Hess and Kathryn J. Hess; her grandchildren, Bradley A. Keith, Jennifer L. Keith and Allyson L. Brubaker Okonski; and her sister Barbara M. Michelsen of Blacksburg, VA. She was also cherished by three great-grandchildren, three nieces and two nephews.
