He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Showers and Lizzie Showers (Kohl); and his sisters, Sally and Joyce Showers. He is survived by: his wife Agnes H. Showers (Mellinger); his children, Nancy Frailey (Tom) and Kenneth Showers (Diane); his grandchildren, Steven, Daniel, Patrick Frailey, Melissa, Melanie, Peter, Becky, Dale, Donald, Robert, Jenny, Debbie and Adam Showers; his great grandchildren, Savannah, Chloe and Heather; and his siblings, Dawn Lumpkin, Robert Showers, John Showers, Dale Showers, Connie Leininger, Betsy Green and Donald Showers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Shriner.
