He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Gurnick II and Alberta Connolly Gurnick; and his brother Peter Gurnick III. He is survived by: his significant other Lorrie Bristow Gurnick; his children, Steven Gurnick (Samantha), Kevin Gurnick Jr. (Gabby), Adam Gurnick and Lauren Gurnick; his grandson Vincenzo Gurnick; and his siblings, Susan Gurnick Fisher (Fred), Roberta Gurnick Miller and Steven Gurnick (Prudence).
