He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Whalen and Margaret Brady Whalen. He is survived by: his wife Georgene Ruth Bell Whalen; his children, Daniel Whalen (Courtney) of Harrisburg and Bethany Sirmons (Malcolm) of Greenville, SC; his grandchildren, Van, Will Sirmons, Benjamin and Maxwell Whalen; and his siblings, Ann Krukas of Barnsville and James Whalen of Mahanoy City.
