He was predeceased by : his parents, Robert Ewing and Lucille Ewing (Roesch); his wife Alice Ewing (McKay); his brother Robert Ewing; his parents-in-law, Kenneth and Martha McKay; his brother-in-law Richard McKay; and his nephew Michael McKay.

He is survived by : his siblings-in-law, Mary Beth Brath (Phillip) of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, Kenneth James McKay (Ginny) of Warren, Ohio, Daniel Lee McKay (Judy) of Greenville, Pennsylvania and Kathleen Ewing of Bensalem, Pennsylvania; and his nieces and nephews, George, Scott, Denton, Kenny, Peter, John, Matt, Andy, Heather and Kristin.
