She was predeceased by : her father Herbert Henry Weiss; and her stepfather Hank Licht. She is survived by : her children, Stacey Dawn Gelofsack (Mitch Scott Gelofsack), Shannon LaRae Piper (Brandon Piper) and Shane Bradley Louis Markel (Megan Markel); and her grandchildren, Gwen Renee Gelofsack, Grace LaRae Gelofsack, Ellie Nicole Markel, Emily Dawn Markel, Brantley Shane Markel and Vera Grace Piper. She is also survived by her husband of 26 years, whom she married.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to any animal rescue or to Karen's church building fund.
