He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. LaRue G. Bender and Helen Bender (Metzger); his brothers, Rev. Richard W. Bender, Dr. Robert L. Bender and John Torrance Bender; and his sister-in-law Ann Bender.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Bender (Greene); his children, Lauralyn Weisel (Scott) of South Williamsport, Lisa Parker (Jonathan) of Texas and Michael Bender of Chester Springs; his grandchildren, Nicole Peltier, Megan Wilson (Nathaniel), Nathan Parker (Gina), Caralyn, Cameron Weisel, Ethan and Elliot Bender; his great grandchildren, Robert Peltier, Jack, Jude Wilson and Lucia Parker; and his sister-in-law Janet Bender. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
