It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Esther Jane Smathers (Limestone, Pennsylvania), who passed away on January 2, 2019, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her spouse Gorman Smathers; and her great grandchild Addison Haggerty. She is survived by: her children, Martha Haggerty (Don) of Clarion, Kay Miller (Ray) of Clarion, Alice Swartzfager (Dennis) of New Bethlehem, Harry Smathers (Cheryl) of New Bethlehem, David Smathers (Che-Che) of New Bethlehem and Nancy Huffman (Scott) of Shippenville; and her sister-in-law Leona Servey of Reidsburg. She is also survived by nieces who were like daughters and helped care for her, Janet (Perry) Zeigler and Mary (John) Keister and numerous other nieces.
