With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Lulu Belle Penrod of Ligonier, Pennsylvania, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Lulu Belle left this world on January 15, 2025 at the age of 77, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Roberts and Lillian Heiple Roberts; and her siblings, Clarence Alton Roberts, Helen Grow and Etta Grace Fritz.
She is survived by: her husband W. Carl Penrod Jr.; her children, Scott Smithley (Erin), Stephen Smithley (Hope) and Amy Taylor (Rachel); her stepdaughters, Staci Barkley (Frank) and Deb Patton (John); her grandchildren, Jacob and Nicole; and her great grandchild Waylon. She is also survived by several other step grandchildren and step great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the McCabe Funeral Home (144 E Main St, Ligonier, PA 15658). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Fort Palmer Presbyterian Church.
