Howard Bitzer Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Howard Bitzer of Ligonier, Pennsylvania, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 15, 2025 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Bitzer and Emma Bitzer (Redling); his brothers, Theodore, Lloyd, Kenneth, Clayton and William; his former wife Mary Ann Bitzer; and his stepchildren, Chris Ann Shadron and Marc A. Schmucker.

He is survived by: his wife Joann Skoloda Schmucker Bitzer; his son Howard Bitzer (Alicia); his stepchildren, Jeff Schmucker (Kami), Mary Clark (Tom) and Angela Herrholtz (Shane); his children-in-law, Brenda Schmucker and Mike Shadron; and his nieces, Linda Lahm and Janet Fraser. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
